Friday afternoon, we all gathered up on Deck 14 to play a game of Phase 10. We wanted to use the Seven Hearts Lounge but there was a “Learning to Play Bridge” seminar in one room and and about 40 other seniors playing some serious Mah Jong, Hearts and Bridge.
It was too intense for us and there was no room for us, either. So, we sat in Dizzy’s Lounge overlooking the pool deck and played Phase 10.
We had a good time but never finished the game because we had to get ready for formal night, meeting the Captain and dinner, again! But, we had a good time. Frank cheated because he a partner helping him. The waiter, his name was Prince (no, not that Prince), kept looking over Frank’s shoulder giving him advice.
One thing that worked out well was not having souses sitting next to each other. That was, of course, until you played a Skip card on your spouse. At least, you avoided the elbow into the ribs.
The game to be continued…
Looks like there will be a Phase 10 night at the next Joyful Hearts Friday! Always a fun game.....
ReplyDeleteActually we had 3 tables of Phase 10 at our last event. Our next event is this Friday. We're scheduled for apple picking & lunch at J&R's; something different a day time event.
