The Cruise Begins

We left port just before 5. When we got out to sea, the winds were blowing at a good clip and the closed the accesses to the outside area. The information was winds gusting at Force 6 whatever that means in seaman speak.

Shortly after we got underway, it was time to eat again. This time we ate in the elegant dining room. The room has 3 levels spanning from Deck 3 to Deck 5. We were on Deck 5 table 532. Wayne was our waiter and Limin our assistant waiter.

Sue had Tomato Tortilla Soup with a Vegetable Quesadilla and a low-fat peach-blueberry cobbler for dessert. I ate the Hot and Sour Shrimp Soup with Pork Medallions for my main course. Chocolate Cherry Cake topped off the meal.

After dinner we enjoyed the Welcome Aboard Show at the Palace Theater. The comedian, Tony Daro, was very funny and clean. Food for thought from Tony: what is Canadian food? Have you ever said, “hey, lets eat Canadian tonight?” Very Interesting. He had us laughing.

Sue and I walked around afterwards and on one TV screen they were monitoring the progress of the ship and showing us where we were. At 9 the first night, it looked like we were about 50 miles due south of Patchogue. We spent the whole day travelling and we were basically still home.

  1. Did Sue like the tortilla soup? I often order chicken tortilla soup in AZ. It is yummy, yummy soup!
